Sport in Our Life

Sport has become an integral part of human life. The word “sport” originated between 1910 and 1915. The implication of sport is physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often participates in a competition. Over the years, the sport has undergone an astonishing transformation. The sport was initially developed for human recreation. It has grown hideously in modern times and is becoming high-tech.

Sports, athletic games, or tests of skill were conducted primarily to amuse or entertain the participants or spectators. Sports have a wide variety of appearances. It may be restricted to any game, hobby, game, or competition that takes place in accordance with certain rules.

It is played indoors or outdoors, individually or as a team, with or without competition, but requires skill and some form of physical exercise. Certain sports such as hunting, fishing, running, and swimming have evolved from primitive forms and the lifestyle of human life. Some sports such as horseback riding, archery, and javelin throwing or bow and arrow are derived from early and long-distance military practices. Sports, such as boxing, wrestling, and jumping, have grown out of outbreaks of human spontaneity and the occasional challenges and hostilities that have accompanied human interaction.

The sport developed in ancient, medieval and modern times in the phenomenal days. In ancient times, the Greeks and Romans showed great interest in the development of sport. It was the Greek who organized the Olympics and interesting people from all over the world participated and witnessed. Thus, the modern Olympic Games originated in the city of Athens in Greece. The feudal system of the Middle Ages prevented the growth of a sport that was only revived in the days of the Renaissance. Today, especially in the 20th century, sport has witnessed the organized growth and development of games. Baseball in the United States and cricket in England, hockey in countries like India and Pakistan are some of the games that developed rapidly in the United States. 20th century, Olympic Games, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games and Afro-Asian Games were organized among others, and they were held at periodic intervals, turning this sport into an international event in the 20th century.

In the 21st century, ultra-modern sports have been transformed and developed with high-tech facilities. Games like cricket, soccer, and hockey are becoming more and more global. Sporting goods and clothing such as tennis ball, rockets, etc. in tennis, racket, ball, flannels, sportswear, etc., in cricket, hockey sticks, balls, artificial sticks, etc. in hockey, they have been the money-producing enterprises all over the world.
